Subcommittees

Publications Subcommittee

The purpose of the Publication Subcommittee is to facilitate and encourage the timely preparation of high quality publications and presentations from NICHD Global Network for Women’s and Children’s Health Researchstudies and promote academic recognition of participants who make significant contributions to the NICHD Global Network for Women’s and Children’s Health Research. The Publications member is comprised of investigators from the Global Network, who are responsible for reviewing publications which arise from work done in the Global Network.

Protocol Review Subcommittee

Principal Investigators (PI), Senior Foreign Investigators (SFI) of the Global Network and affiliated investigators have the opportunity and responsibility to propose new areas of research to the Steering Committee for review and consideration as a Global Network study.  The purpose of the Protocol Review Subcommittee is to provide valuable feedback to authors of common protocols to increase the quality of the proposed protocol for implementation within the Global Network.  The subcommittee is made up of one investigator per site with equal representation between the U.S. and foreign collaborators. Development of research concepts for common protocols introduces innovative topics for collaborative research and stimulates intellectual discussion concerning the direction and scope of perinatal care in the developing world.

Training Subcommittee

A Training Subcommittee, composed of representatives from each site, was formed to increase capacity at the international sites through development of training programs and facilitating other training, mentorship or similar opportunities for Global Network investigators.  The Training Subcommittee oversaw the Global Network Scholars Program, in which each site nominated an investigator to receive mentorship and networking opportunities to further their research interests.
